Tillandsia... Air plants

Can you tell I'm just a little bit obsessed with these stunning and miraculous plants?
No soil, or even a pot is necessary.
It's like a moss. It grows right on the branches of trees. Or on an invisible string if you like...

The Beautiful Bok Tower
Edward Bok's vision to create
"a place of beauty like no other".
Built in 1929 and dedicated by President Calvin Coolidge.
The Tower is 205 feet tall and houses a 60 bell carillon
with daily concerts at 1 PM and 3 PM.

Do You Have the Time ...
Lawrie's Sundial
Created by sculptor Lee Lawrie, best known for his “Atlas” statue in Rockefeller Center,
this art deco sundial adorns the south side of the Singing Tower.
It features a bronze snake (gnomon), the ancient symbol of time,
as well as the 12 signs of the zodiac to mark the 12 months of the year.
Each of the Roman numerals mark the hours of the day.
The gnomon casts a shadow on the dial face to indicate the time.
The words from President Calvin Coolidge’s speech are carved below the sundial
to commemorate the dedication of the Gardens.

Golden Door II
Created by Samuel Yellin, America’s premier metalworker,
the brass door depicts the Biblical story of Creation, from the Book of Genesis,
starting with the creation of light
and ending with Adam and Eve being banished from the Garden of Eden.
The door is made of teak wood faced with the 30 brass panels.

“It is a wonderful inner personal satisfaction to reach the point when a man can say:
"I have enough"
His soul and character are refreshed by it; he is made over by it.
He begins a new life.”

~ Edward W. Bok, America, Give Me a Chance!
