Yarnell Hills Elite Fire Fighters

Today is a sad day in Arizona, USA.
A fire in Yarnell Hills, Arizona
exploded out of control on Sunday
30 June
killing 19 of 20, Elite "Hot Shot" Fire Fighters.

I'm currently passing through Arizona.

In Lake Havasau City,
the London Bridge is usually decorated with both British and American Flags.

Today, after yesterday's tragic accident
in which a devastating fire storm claimed the lives of the 19 brave and courageous young men, the British Flags were removed and the American Flag was hung at half mast all across the State.
The sky was overcast and the temperature had cooled from 124 degrees to 116 degrees.

The extremely hot temperatures played a role in the dangerous extent of the fire.
The Yarnell Hills fire was started by a lightning strike.

Please take just a moment and pray for the families of these young men,
who gave their lives in service to their community.

May God bless their families
and may His mercy and grace bring them comfort and peace in their time of unspeakable grief.
