New Friends Who Feel Like Old Friends...

New friends, who feel like old friends, are the best kind of friends.

I recently met a new friend and she feels like a great 'old friend'. I feel like I've known her forever.
She's a beautiful soul. She is strong and passionate. She is caring and sincere. She has a rich history.
I like that. These are all wonderful qualities I cherish in my friends.
My friend has Cancer.
She has been battling the big " C " for fourteen years! Yes, I said 14 years!
Her strength comes from God. She is a Blessing to all who meet her.

I want to photograph her in all her glorious beauty, but she's not feeling it right now, and therefore doesn't want me to photograph her.

...so I photographed her teeny, tiny, furbaby instead.
{Annie didn't really want me to photograph her either; but I just ignored her.}

She had just come from the groomer and had the requisite bow in her hair...
...after the session, we took the bow out.

Meet Annie...

Annie is a perfect and wonderful companion for my friend.

Cancer is an ugly disease. it always seems to happen to the most beautiful people.
God bless you, my friend.
Stay strong in the LORD.

  1. What a lovely and sentimental series! It brought tears to my eyes. My heart goes out to your friend! I understand the travails of chronic illness, but simply can't imagine the fortitude she's had to show in this life, fighting and dealing with every aspect of the Big C for 14 years. This is such a poignant post.
